*around用作介词，意思是“在......的周围、环绕”，多用于美国英语。 The earth moves around the sun. They planted many trees around the field. *round用作介词，意思“在......的周围、环绕”，多用于英国英语。round还可用作形容词，意思是“圆的，球形的”，around没有这样的用法。如： Their family are sitting round the round table. 注意： 表示“在附近、在各处”等时用around，表示“圆周运动、测量”时用round。如： The man traveled all around the world for a week. The spaceship traveled right round the world in 40 minutes.
